Since birth, we have been trained how to live—by our parents, then in school, in the workplace, then we teach our kids how to live. But, have anybody taught us how to conquer the most cruel of all: DEATH? The good news is, by realizing this Science of Identity philosophy and by practicing mantra meditation [chanting of the Lord’s holy names] can free us from all anxieties and fear of death. Lord Chaitanya Mahaprabhu*, also known as Gauranga [“the Golden One”], the great saint and mystic, Who appeared 524 years ago today [2011] gave this commandment: “Chant the holy names, chant the holy names, chant the holy names. In this age of quarrel, chaos, and confusion the only means of deliverance is chanting the holy names of the Lord. There is no other way, there is no other way, there is no other way.”—Brihan-naradiya Purana 38:126 In the Bible, it is also said: “Our help is in the name of the Lord Who made heaven and earth.”—Psalms 124:8, “Save me O Lord by thy name.”—Psalms 54:1, “O God, my heart is fixed; I will sing and chant Your praise.”—Psalms 108:1, “Our Father Who art in heaven, hallowed be Thy name…”—Mathhew 6:9
In order to taste love for God and experience real love for others, the devotees of God in disciplic succession tells us that we should give up our falsely identifying with the material body and the group that the body is affiliated with. This “party spirit” is the cause of all animosity to others. It is the mentality or feeling (in the name of so-called religion) that, “I am righteous and all others are bad.” We are all brothers and sisters—all equal in the eyes of God. All life forms—humans, animals, and plants are children of the Supreme Father. In the Ten Commandments it is said: “Thou shalt not kill.” The Buddha teaches ahimsa [non-violence]. In the Holy Koran, the Prophet Mohammed said: “A good deed done to an animal is as meritorious as a good deed done to a human being; while an act of cruelty to an animal is as bad as an act of cruelty to a human being.”
If you falsely identify yourself as “Christian”, or “born-again Christian”, then you will conceive others of different beliefs and practices as “black sheep”, “pagan”, may sapi [possessed], or na kay ‘Taning [in Satan’s side]; if you falsely identify yourself as “Moslem”, then you will conceive others as “infidels”—unfaithful to God; if you falsely identify yourself as “Buddhist”, then you will conceive of others as tamasik [people in ignorance]; if you falsely identify yourself as “Hindu Vaishnava”, then you will conceive others as karmis [non-devotees, or people who engages only in fruitive (material) activities]. Burned-out of these concepts and conflicts, many cause-oriented people—artists, writers, musicians, etc., for the sake of WORLD PEACE, would propose their idealisms; just like former Beatle John Lennon in his song IMAGINE: “Imagine there’s no heaven / no hell below us / no countries / no possessions / a brotherhood of man / nothin’ to kill or die for / AND NO RELIGION TOO / Imagine all the people sharin’ all the world / livin’ life in peace / And the world will live as one. / Yoohoo!”
The Supreme Personality of Godhead, Lord Krishna said: “Abandon all varieties of religion and just surrender unto Me. I shall deliver you from all sinful reaction. Do not fear.”—Bhagavad-gita 18:66
My guru said: “Do not criticize…” Lord Chaitanya prays: “O My Lord, Your holy name alone can render all benediction to living beings, and thus You have hundreds and millions of names like Krishna, Govinda [Jehovah, Allah, El Shaddai, Buddha, Rama], and others. In these transcendental names You have invested all Your transcendental energies. There are not, even hard and fast rules for chanting these names. O my Lord, out of kindness You enable us to easily approach You by your holy names…” Lord Chaitanya is also known as “The Agent of Harmony”.
So, my proposal is that, let us just chant the holy names and be well-wishers of everyone; not only of this planet, but of the whole universe, as well. This is pure, clean fun. Fun is aloud! \ \(‘c’,)/ / Haribol (The Ultimate Goodwill!)!
